Time to start on spacebuns iii while the dreadhead ii is baking in the oven. I’m too inspired to sit around and wait! So as with the ii build, I’ll make a separate inspiration look post for his spacebuns look and go into the details of what I intend to include. I’ll link it back here once it’s up.
This figurine’s look will be based on his spacebuns hair with a black brocade jacket and the red silk scarf combo.

Pops used in this build are: 1418 – Louis de Pointe du Lac (body), 1410- Yahaba (head), 295 – H.E.R (bass)
First up – behead Louis! Poor Louis gets the boiling hot water spa treatment before his handsome head pops off and is sent to the spare parts box for another build on another day.

Now that the body is off and I can slip the bass over the neck and do a bit of a test fit to see if the H.E.R bass fits Louis’ body nicely and of course our bassy boi has the perfect fit. I can probably try and custom paint it to match the one from the inspo post and match his outfit (if I can find pics of course!).
I’m glad that actually came off the Pop as I wasn’t looking forward to trying to sculpt a bass for him this time, I’ll probably have to in the future. The Pop’s hands actually rotate so that really helps fit the bass so that it doesn’t look too wonk (ignore the wonk photo).

I don’t need to do anything to Louis’s body other than prime and paint and glue the bass once I’ve finished painting it.
Normally I’d probably start on sculpting the hair but in this case I think I’ll start with the mask so that the hair can bump up against it a bit. You’ll see what I mean when I get to that bit later on. Pops have such an odd head shape, I’m not sure how this is going to turn out.
I’m really excited for this next bit. I had fun with the clay on the back of ii’s head but this is going to be sculpting an actual mask! That’s worthy of it’s own post don’t you think? Yeah so do I.
Worship! 🖤
